C-47B Dakota

Air Force Museum of New Zealand (Christchurch, NZ)

This aircraft was used for VIP flights in its early years; including transporting Queen Elizabeth II around New Zealand in 1953-1954. Operated by the RNZAF it continued to be in active service up to 1977 when it was flow to Wigram for display in the museum. It has been left in the same condition as it was on retirement in 1977. Apologies for the flare caused by the spotlights illuminating the other displays.
